i met you when i was 10... you were 12. i remember you, i wrote about you in my diary. he's cute, i wrote. he sings well. i believe you wore a white shirt. i wrote about your hair, i wrote about that sunday - my extended family with your family. you lived so far away and i wondered if i would see you again.

8 years later our paths crossed once more. fate, i thought. we kept in touch.

and then we loved.

we were young, the situation wasn't ideal, our hearts were probably not right. but it was love.

our calls, our walks, the shells, popsicles, the soft breeze, cooking together, our little adventures, the number 32.

they said you were wrong for me but i fought for you. i cried for you. i begged them for you. i wanted to change my life for you. they said no. but i was madly in love.

then came the news. he said you were using me. he said your intentions were not right and you were proud of it. he said you told everyone. from a princess much desired, i became a laughingstock. my heart was crushed. they were right.

i believed the newsbearer - he was, after all, my bestfriend. he was watching out for me, and that's what bestfriends do.

so i slammed the door in your face and left you by the roadside. i cried behind that door. and behind so many doors after that. i was hurt, angry, but silently still loving you. i thought of you every so often.

then life moved along. 1 year, 2 years, 3...

against my wishes, I had to fly 7000 miles away from everything and everyone. i wanted to find you before i left. i didn't know where to start, who to ask. you must have changed your number. your friends must have changed their numbers too.

so here i am, new country, new life. still had you on my mind. i scoured social networking sites to find you. i googled your name quite often, i didn't have your email address.

1 year, 2 years.. finally found you!

but you're getting married i read... so i cried.. and started letting go.

another year, and now you have a child.

i close the book.

time to talk to you and start healing, i thought. so i say how's your family?
